Let’s talk about something that you can use in your marketing that I think is going to really, really, really help the education and bringing in new parents for you.

We all want to implement and improve our marketing strategies… Have you thought about adding Cognitive Development?

You’re all going, what on earth? How does that help with marketing, Sarah? Right, I will tell you how this helps with marketing. So, I am a co author of a book called Learning for Life. It’s on Amazon – HERE

It has nine authors in it. I just gave you ten. No, nine. It has nine authors in it. All who have a vast experience of working in the after school activities sector. In a range of different things that they’re doing. You know, from cooking, to drama, to dance. There’s lots and lots of things there. And all of us have done a chapter about our lives, our success stories, and children that we have worked with that, how extracurricular activities have aided their cognitive development.

Now, what I also love about this book is that everybody has done tips. What do they do in their class that the children love? So think about that. We’ve asked me maths for three tips. Nine authors, okay, do your maths. That’s a lot of tips in this book that you can just go, I like that idea. And even if it’s a cooking one, and I’m always one for looking to other industries to go, what is it that you guys are doing?

How can we adapt that for the dance industry? And even, so even the cooking ones, you could just go, ooh, I like that concept. I’m gonna try that in my class. Now, we all know, as dance teachers, the benefits that dance has on children, okay? From a cognitive development point of view, you’re looking at memory, you’re looking at retention, you’re looking at physicality, you’re looking at rhythm, you are looking at spatial awareness.

Confidence, self esteem, all of these things are developed and grown by naturally by what it is that we do as dance and theatre school teachers, right? So how can we use this? In the marketing will buy the book, read it right and you can take like elements of so, for example, problem solving, right? If you did a post about problem solving on your marketing feed that said, did you know?

That doing dance aids the cognitive development of problem solving, which directly transfers through into the education of your child within school. Can you see where I’m going here? Yeah? This is about you saying to people that dance isn’t just, all the skills that we naturally give for dance, as in coordination and flexibility and all of that.

But actually, this is an important skill, life skill, that directly reflects on their educational learning within school time and will benefit that from a mathematical, from an English perspective. And when we throw that slant on marketing, we’re not only then singing the benefits, the creative benefits that dance will bring.

We’re also singing the tune of the educational benefits that dance will bring. And that will attract different people to your business that maybe they hadn’t thought about what dance can do for their child from a mathematical point of view. Okay. So this is about when we come to marketing, it’s about being.

Broad but specific. Oh my god, explain that one, Sarah. All right, broad in terms of what you do, in terms of online and offline. So not just solely focusing on the social media element, but also having those, you know, leaflets and posters, they are back guys. Okay, getting into schools, doing workshops, being able to hand out your leaflets within there.

They are starting to work again. All right. So it’s about having a broad spectrum of activities that you do. For marketing that work constantly and continually in the background. Right? So that’s the broad aspect. But the specific aspect is when you come down to talking about your age categories, or as I like to call it, my segments.

So you will talk if you’re going to talk about a preschool class. What a parent would be looking for in a preschool class would be very different to the language you would use to attract a teenager. Okay? Now this educational slant may well work very well for the teenage element. But it could also work really well for the preschool if you tweak it in the right way.

So this is a thought for you. So buy the book HERE Read it. And then just think not only, you know, taking the tips and being able to use that within your class, but also think about it from the terms of a wider perspective. How can I use this as an educational tool to my potential customers to say how beneficial dance can be, not only from a physical, creative, and inspiring, and inspirational, and making you feel good type of way, but also From a educational type of way as well.

Have a think on that one.
